IPBridge – IP/ASI processor

The Nucomm IP Bridge is an innovative, compact, streaming video solution for HD video, providing the means to stream video over IP (ViP) packets in a LAN or WAN environment. There are two basic versions of the IPBridge, an IPBridge—ViP streamer, and an IPBridge-Encapsulator/Decapsulator.

The IPBridge-ViP streamer accepts ASI and encapsulates the MPEG Transport Stream (TS) into IP packets and streams the packets to a destination address. The ViP Streamer is handy for moving MPEG TS from a remote location to a decoder where dedicated ASI lines are not available. The ViP streamer may be optionally outfitted with an AES encryption and decryption function.

The IPBridge-Encapsulator/Decapsulatormodel is used to transmit and receive IP data over an ASI network. Generic IP traffic is encapsulated into or de-encapsulated from MPEG2-TS and transported over ASI. For other applications this model is outfitted with a 2×1 ASI hitless diversity switch. The switching may be commanded based on a user input or automatically from internal transport error indicator or alarm signals.
