IMT is the industry leader in TV news and broadcast microwave video systems. IMT’s broadcast market consists of electronic news gathering, wireless camera systems, portable microwave, and fixed point to point systems. For this market, IMT integrates customized solutions for use in news helicopters, ground-based news vehicles, camera operations, central receive sites, remote onsite and studio newscasts and live television events. IMT customers within this market are blue-chip tier-1 major network TV stations that include over-the-air broadcasters, as well as cable and satellite news providers.

Technology Innovations

Since its founding, IMT has established itself as a key innovator in driving the transition of video transmission technology from analog to digital platforms. IMT pioneered the implementation of Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (COFDM) modulation. COFDM is a transmission technique that combines encoding technology with OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) modulation to provide the low latency and high image clarity required for real-time live broadcasting video transmissions. The Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) is involved in setting forth standards for digital television transmission over terrestrial, cable, and satellite networks.

The Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) is the professional organization of television and radio engineers and those in related fields. It is the only organization devoted to the advancement of all levels and types of broadcast engineering. The SBE has more than 5,100 members in 114 chapters across the United States and members in more than 30 other countries.

The National Association of Broadcasters is the voice for the nation’s radio and television broadcasters.
